Jellystone Park in Quarryville Wins Facility of the Year Award

Quarryville, PA (March 19, 2009) – The Ryan family, owners of the Quarryville-Lancaster South Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, has been recognized with the Facility of the Year Award by the Jellystone Park franchise system. The award is given to the Camp-Resort that has added new amenities and facilities while also showing sustained improvements on current amenities. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati, Ohio.

The Camp-Resort, located on 63 wooded acres with an adjoining 100-acre park, saw tremendous growth in 2008 after opening Yogi-Bear’s Water Zone, a 40,000 square foot interactive splash park featuring water cannons, slides, an activity pool and more.  The location also expanded its store and Ranger Station to better accommodate guests.

“Our family feels very privileged to have received the Facility of the Year Award,” said Beth Ryan.  “It has taken 18 years of dedication, hard work and a vision of the future to reach this level of excellence.”

In addition to Yogi Bear’s Water Zone, the Camp-Resort also features a Pedal Kart Track, paint ball, fishing at Skunk Hollow Lake, an arcade and pavilion activities.

Jellystone Park in Quarryville opens May 15 for the 2009 season.
