Jellystone Park in Frankenmuth Wins Award for Excellence in Camping Industry
Frankenmuth, MI (May 5, 2008) – Erv and Marilyn Banes, owners, and Cindy Keinath, chief operations officer, of the Frankenmuth Jellystone Park Camp-Resort, have been recognized with the Facility of the Year Award by the Jellystone Park franchise system. The award is given to the Camp-Resort that has added new amenities and facilities while also showing sustained improvements on current amenities. The award was presented at the annual meeting of the Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park Camp-Resort group in Cincinnati, Ohio.
“We have worked hard to deliver the best camping experience possible to our patrons, and it has paid off,” said Keinath. “Receiving this award, as well as other awards for excellence and perfect inspections, is a tremendous honor, and we’re continuing our quest to improve the camping experience for visitors by offering free wireless Internet service and new playground equipment this year.”
The park’s special events lineup this year includes Scouting Weekend, Pure Michigan Weekend, What’s Cooking Weekend and Magic Weekend, just to name a few. Frankenmuth Jellystone Park also has weekday planned activities for campers June through August. July’s weekday themes include: Matchbox Mondays, Tye-dye Tuesdays, Workshop Wednesdays and Charity Benefit Thursday. “The kids play, create and build Monday through Wednesday, and on Thursdays they learn ways to raise money for different charities,” Keinath explained.
The Camp-Resort, located in the old-world Bavarian Village of Frankenmuth, features 260 campsites and provides the perfect family getaway with amenities such as an indoor swimming pool and hot tub, mini golf, game room, snack bar, loaded activity schedule and more – all within walking distance to the Frankenmuth attractions. Yogi Bear’s Jellystone Park in Frankenmuth is open year-round, with recreational programming running from Easter weekend through October.
